Suppose an SKU looked profitable in one report, but a new export shows a lower result. Sales barely changed, but a new deduction appeared in the report. Before changing the price, find which operation the amount belongs to and whether another line already includes it.
A short checking sequence:
- Find the source record. Keep the deduction label, amount, operation date, product identifier and report source. Do not classify it as logistics or a penalty until the marketplace document explains the line.
- Separate operation date from appearance date. A deduction shown today may belong to a sale or return in an earlier period. Compare profit over matching windows and record which date each report uses.
- Check for double counting. The amount may already be in an aggregate commission or compensation. Reconcile the total against operation detail. If evidence is missing, mark it “unclassified” rather than count it twice.
- Estimate the SKU impact. Illustrative example: a product contributed ₽260 after known variable costs. An additional confirmed deduction of ₽35 per unit reduces the preliminary result to ₽225. This is not a current marketplace tariff; tax and some shared costs are omitted. Do not apply a one-off deduction to every future sale.
- Assign the action. Record the source, allocation rule, owner and date to recheck. Only then decide whether pricing, logistics or margin assumptions need to change.
Keep a reconciliation record
Create one row per disputed charge: source → operation ID → operation date → date first seen → SKU → amount → classification status → owner. Until the source is confirmed, do not spread the charge across all sales. After reconciliation, recalculate preliminary profit only for the affected units and period.
Where ProfitVena helps
ProfitVena helps trace SKU economics through cost lines with source and freshness context. Wildberries can be connected; supported data can be imported from Excel/CSV. Calculation completeness depends on received data and configured cost of goods. The technical part has been updated in ProfitVena.
For a wider reconciliation, start with the five lines to check when weekly profit changes. ProfitVena is part of the Wicsora ecosystem.
